The range

Which apron suits the job

Six shapes cover almost every order we take. The differences are practical rather than cosmetic — where the weight sits, what the fabric survives, and how much flat panel there is to decorate.

One thing worth saying before you choose: a lot of salon and food-prep aprons are coated or treated to shed water. Embroidery puts needle holes through that coating and a heat press puts heat on it, and we will not tell you either way what that does to how it performs — we genuinely do not know, and nobody has put it in writing for us.

What we will do is tell you which method is gentler on a given fabric, and check the garment specification with you before anything runs. If the coating matters, confirm the requirement against the maker’s own specification first.

Decoration

What changes when you put a logo on an apron

An apron is mostly flat panel, which makes it one of the easier garments to decorate — but the ties, the pockets and the fabric weight all decide where a logo can actually go.

  • The bib gives you the most room

A chest logo on a bib apron sits at eye level across a counter, and there is room for a wordmark rather than just a mark. Waist aprons trade that for a smaller pocket placement.

  • Coated fabrics are a question, not a no

Plenty of aprons are treated to shed water or colour. We can stitch or press them; what we will not do is claim the treatment performs the same afterwards, because that is not ours to promise. Check the garment specification.

  • Seams and ties set the limits

Pocket seams, dividing stitches and waist ties all sit where a logo might want to. We confirm size and placement in writing before anything runs, so nothing lands half on a seam.

Most apron orders are embroidered. Heavy cotton and canvas take a dense stitch without complaint, and a stitched logo survives the commercial wash cycle a hospitality apron actually goes through.

Print is the better answer when the artwork has more colour in it than thread can sensibly carry, or when it needs to be big. We press every transfer here on our own heat press; the transfers themselves are printed for us by our transfer partner.

Two ways to start

Ready to get your aprons branded?

Most quotes go back the same business day. There is no obligation and no minimum order.

Or call 021 082 12843 — Mon–Fri 8:30am–5:30pm.

What happens next

  1. 1. You send rough numbers and what the team does.
  2. 2. We come back with garment options and a price per garment, decoration included, usually the same business day.
  3. 3. Once you go ahead, we confirm logo size and placement in writing before anything is decorated.

How it works

How an apron order runs

Three steps, and nothing is decorated until you have approved a proof.

  • Step 1

    Send the details

Your logo, which apron shape you are after and roughly how many. Rough numbers are fine — we will tell you if a different shape suits the job better.

  • Step 2

    We quote it

Garment options and a price per apron with the decoration included, usually back the same business day. One number per apron, not a garment cost and a branding cost to add together.

  • Step 3

    Proof, decorate, courier

You approve a digital proof and we confirm logo size and placement in writing. Then the order is stitched or pressed here in Glenfield and couriered to you.

Embroidery carries a one-off setup if we have not already set your logo up at that size — that is the step where your artwork becomes machine instructions, and the exact stitch count and price are only known once it is done. One setup covers your garments at the same logo size, so bib aprons and waist aprons share it; a much larger logo needs its own, because it is not just the same stitching enlarged. Your logo stays yours, the stitch file we build from it is ours, and we keep it on record so a reorder of the same gear never pays setup again.

Who we brand aprons for

Aprons are the one garment that crosses trades that have nothing else in common. These are the three we quote most often.

Questions

Questions people ordering aprons ask

If yours is not here, ask when you request a quote and you will get a straight answer.

How much do custom aprons cost?

Every job is quoted. The apron itself, the decoration method and the quantity all move the number, so a stitched left-chest logo on ten bib aprons and a full-colour transfer on a hundred are different jobs. You get one price per apron with the decoration already in it, not a garment cost and a branding cost to add together. Send the logo and rough numbers and the quote usually comes back the same business day.

Is there a minimum order?

No. One apron or two hundred. Larger runs price better per unit because the setup is spread further, but there is no minimum quantity and no obligation to reorder. A very small order does carry a handling charge, for the same reason the per-unit price moves: setting the machine up and running it takes much the same work for one apron as for fifty. The charge is on your quote before you commit to anything.

Are embroidered aprons better than printed ones?

For most hospitality and workshop orders, yes. Embroidered aprons hold up to the hot commercial wash cycle that kills a surface print, and thread reads as the more considered finish across a counter. Print wins when the artwork is photographic, has gradients in it, or needs to be large — thread cannot hold fine detail under about 5mm, and a big solid fill gets heavy and expensive. We will tell you which one your artwork actually needs rather than take the order either way.

Can you decorate a coated or water-resistant apron?

Yes, and we will be straight about what we do not know. Embroidery puts needle holes through the fabric and a heat press applies heat and pressure to it, and neither of those leaves a coating exactly as it was. What we cannot tell you is how much that changes the way it performs, because we have nothing in writing from the makers to base it on. If the coating is doing a job you are relying on, confirm the requirement against the garment’s own specification before you order, and we will tell you which method is the gentler of the two on that fabric.

Can I supply my own aprons?

Yes. Send us your own stock and we will decorate it, or we source the blanks and decorate them in one go. If you are supplying, send one spare where you can — fabric weight, coatings and pocket construction all change how a design needs to be set up, and it is better to find that out on a spare than on your whole run.

How long will the logo last?

A stitched logo will normally outlast the apron. A pressed transfer lasts well provided it is washed inside out and not tumble-dried on high, but it will not match embroidery under a hot commercial wash every night — if that is your situation, ask us about embroidery instead. Aprons take more abuse than most uniform items, so it is worth deciding this at the quote stage.

Do you supply custom aprons with a logo across Auckland?

Yes. Custom aprons with a logo go out across Auckland constantly — cafes on the North Shore, salons in the CBD, workshops out west — and embroidered aprons in Auckland are the single most common apron order we run. Everything is decorated in Glenfield and couriered, and the rest of New Zealand is the same job with a longer courier leg.

Can I come in and pick them up?

No. We are a service-area business — the workshop is in Glenfield and there is no counter, so there are no walk-ins and nothing is collected in person. Orders start with a message or a phone call, artwork comes over email, and the finished aprons are couriered to you anywhere in the country, Auckland included.

Send us the numbers and the logo

Usually same-business-day replies, Mon–Fri. One apron is a real order.
